Cialis Uses
Cialis (tadalafil) acts in the same way as Viagra, by blocking an enzyme
called phosphodiesterase-5, or PDE-5. This helps the smooth muscles in
the penis relax and widen, which allows for more blood to enter. As a
result, you gain erections faster and easier with Cialis. Cialis is approved
in authorized markets for the treatment of mild to severe ED at both 10
and 20 mg Cialis doses. The Cialis labels in each of these markets indicate
that the product should be taken prior to anticipated sexual activity
and without regard to food. Just like Viagra,
sexual stimulation is needed for Cialis to work.
How to take Cialis
Cialis is taken orally when needed between 24 hours and half and hour
before sexual activity. Take only as directed, usually once daily as needed.
Cialis works along with sexual stimulation to help achieve an erection.
Precautions while taking Cialis:
You should have a complete medical history and exam to determine the cause
of your impotence before taking Cialis.
Men who have medical conditions that may cause a sustained erection such
as sickle cell anemia, leukemia or multiple myeloma or who have an abnormally
shaped penis may not be able to take Cialis.
There are several medications that are known to interact with Cialis,
so be sure to tell your doctor about all medications you are taking including
those you can get without a prescription.
Cialis has not been studied
with other treatments for impotence, so use in combination with other
treatments is not recommended.
Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate side effects of this drug.
To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying
position, get up slowly.
The elderly may be more sensitive to the side effects of Cialis; therefore
caution is advised in this group.
